Beers Available

Brew the Change pours deep gold with a slight haze and fluffy white foam. Aromas of honey and wildflowers abound. The initial flavour is that of sweet honey followed quickly by herbal, tannic yerba and tart cranberry. The finish offers mild mead-like lingering warmth and floral notes.

B-SIDE BREWING LABEL- Gigantic: La Formidable
La Formidable is a hazy golden ale that exudes appetizing aromas of grapefruit and orange, along with light piney notes and white pepper. The flavour offers a firm but balanced bitterness that is complemented by citrus fruitiness. The finish is spicy with earthy undertones.

B-SIDE BREWING LABEL- Kissmeyer: Nordic Pale Ale
Kissmeyer Nordic Pale Ale is a medium-bodied pale ale, dry for the style, with balanced low to medium bitterness. Aromas are hoppy and fruity with slight herbal complexity. Taste is hoppy and dry, with malt, caramel, and herbs in the background. The Nordic Pale Ale has a crisp finish of hop bitterness followed by a subtle and complex herbal spiciness.
Beau's Lug Tread Lagered Ale
Lug-Tread is top fermented (like an ale) and then cold aged (like a lager) for a lengthy period. This gives our beer some light ale notes complemented by a lager-like crispness. Lug-Tread displays interwoven malt and hop flavours, subtle fruit flavours and a crisp, lingering finish.

Pours gold with a frothy white head. Light-bodied, the flavour flows from light peppery notes to refreshing grassy and herbal hop elements. The finish is brisk and "moreish" (suggestive of another sip!)
Expect a bold-yet-balanced blend of hop bitterness and both citrus and earthy hop aromas, complemented by bready maltiness and caramel flavours.

GRUIT SERIES: Grandmaster O.G.
Grandmaster O.G. pours deep gold with white foam. An assertive sweet, floral, citrusy and somewhat piney aroma is displayed. The flavour is herbaceous, mildly sweet and slightly peppery. Grandmaster O.G. is medium-bodied, lightly tannic and has a lingering, herbal finish.

GRUIT SERIES: Original Gruit
This deep gold, slightly hazy gruit has a mildly citrusy, herbal aroma with some malt notes. The flavour is balanced between malty sweetness and herbal bitterness. The finish is medium-long with lingering tannins and a hint of spice.
KORU: Belgian-Style Pale Ale
KORU: Belgian-Style Pale Ale
Koru pours deep gold with white frothy foam. The aroma combines tropical fruit with citrusy notes such as candied orange. Koru is medium-bodied and the flavours are peppery and fruity suggesting mango, papaya, pineapple and grapefruit. The finish offers lingering spice.
The aroma is a complex array of roasted malt character featuring notes of espresso, and chocolate. Roasted elements also dominate the flavour, giving way to subtleties like slightly burnt caramel, and hints of nut(s). The strength of both the flavour and aroma is contrasted by an approachable mouthfeel. The initial dryness of the beer is subdued by a gentle flourish of increased body and sweetness in the finish. The end result is a sessionable, flavourful, and robust stout.

Dry and refreshing, with fruity character coming from both the fermentation and the addition of dried organic orange peel. The complexity is enhanced with the characteristic Belgian yeast spiciness and mild earthy undertones.

Smooth malty notes are kept in balance by the citrus & slight pine hop character. Peppery undertones derived from the rye malt harmonize with gentle warmth and subtle toastiness from light aging on rye-whiskey-soaked oak.

WILD OATS NO. 61: Tyrannosaurus Gruit
Tyrannosaurus Gruit pours brilliantly clear with a red cranberry colour. Aromas of beets and berries give way to subtle spruce. The flavour reflects beet flavour with resinous, peppery spruce notes. A hint of juniper follows. The finish is bright and crisp.

WILD OATS NO. 62: Embittermint
Embittermint I.P.A. pours a hazy yellow with white foam. The aroma is a combination of orangey citrus and muddled mint (think mortar and pestle and mojito). This beer is medium-bodied with an explosion of julep-y orange flavour that is offset by cool mint. The finish is long lasting and refreshing.

WILD OATS NO. 63: Elephant Monsoon
Elephant Monsoon pours a nearly opaque brown/black with a tan head. The aroma is a medley of mocha, grape and peanut notes. The flavour features sweet grapey fruitiness followed by dark chocolate and peanuts. The finish is dry... with lingering nuts.

Day Trip #1

We're located in the picturesque village of Vankleek Hill, one hour east of Ottawa. The town features many tourist stops: an historic tower, several murals, a Farmers' market and a small art gallery. Make sure to stop at the Blueberry Hill Wed - Sat. evenings for dinner, and visit some of the quaint retailers in town.
