This month, Mirella Amato of Beerology sits down with Rob Creighton from the Grand River Brewing in Cambridge and Ancil Hartman from Kichesippi Beer, the Ottawa brewery that brews the Scotch Irish brands, to find out more about their imperial stouts. In the first part of this Ontario Brewer Podcast, Rob and Ancil share the ingredients and techniques involved in making the Grand River Russian Gun and the Scotch Irish John By. Both these beers have names that reflect the local heritage. Listen in as Rob tells the story of the Russian Gun and how it came to be in the city of Galt (part of Cambridge). Ancil explains how important Lieutenant-Colonel John By was in the development of the city of Ottawa.
