Congratulations to Camerons on thier enviromental award.  Well deserved guy’s!

Talking about congratulations,  has anyone checked out www.edibletoronto.com  and the article called “sipping along” written by our OCB multi talented Marketing Director Mary MacIsaac. (Please don’t give your day job up yet Mary we need you!)……….. Although reading her bio it makes it seem as if she takes her work home (beer).

Well the snow up here in Neustadt is slowly going, so we know spring is here. We have had all the spring run off and flooding we can cope with and we are now ready for some sun and hot beer drinking weather, Yeah! We are getting ready for another busy summer season. Our Cavern and brewery tours are filling up fast, we are now booking for July, so don’t miss out book early, to avoid disapointment.

neustadtspringsbreweryfront.jpgneustadtspringsbreweryside.jpgneustadtspringsbreweryback.jpgOk I give in. this is for Mary, Lisa, Steve and Rob. (our fantastic marketing team) Brand Fire is the best!

Neustadt went green in September, we invested in a smart car. Yes,as my kids say a clown car. It was first bought to stop my teenage kids from pinching my car (an intrepid). This did not happen as it was the only one in the whole of Grey County, my 20 year old thought it was a great gimmick to pull the chick’s. It is fantastic, I love it. It holds it self well in the snow. It cost’s me 12$  to go to TO (a six hour drive there and back) I would recomend anybody to get one. Every one wants to sit in it. I pull in any where and all of a sudden I have people who love it and want to know all about it. I know this isn’t about beer, but what the hell, go green and save the planet!

neustadt-snow-day.JPGHey Guys and Gals

So you think you have had it rough in TO today. Well let me show you why we love living in the snow belt. We like to have snow days, when we can stay in bed when all the roads are closed in our county and every county around us………I don’t think!. Luckily we live in the brewery so we don’t have an excuse to say we cann’t get in to work. Your favourite tipple is still being produced ready for when we can escape Grey County. Stay warm work up a thirst!

Happy New Year! 1 Comment »

Hey Guys and Gals

Happy New Year from every one at Neustadt.

2007 flew by and saw a lot of changes at Neustadt. We celibrated our 10th anniversay on 23rd December. Launched a celebration Decade Bitter for the occasion (only available from the brewery) Re launched our winter beer Big Dog Porter, this year working with Pele Island and using thier red wine in the porter.  Launched our beers into .473 cans (we are still waiting for LCBO approval for the Lager) Managed to fit a lot of alterations in (thanks to Andrew working round the clock) please forgive him if he looks half asleep, I think he could sleep on a clothes line!

2008 promises a lot more of ………….. a day in the life of Neustadt! be it good or bad we really do have a sense of humour. Bring it on 2008 we are ready, as most of the Ontario Craft Brewers are.  All I have to do now is wake Andrew up to go and pick our new brewer Rob Beck from the airport. He is flying in from England ( yes we are bringing in the best of the best) and he will be working with Andrew for the next 12 months (somebody has to keep Andrew awake)

Oh! and if anybody finds a portable garage in Peterbourgh, Oshawa  area please send it home it’s mine for my smart car it disapeared yesterday in that high wind!

Congratulations to Rob Westgate Neustadt's winner and also all the other winners of the OCB's "be a brewer for a day" competion.  I hope you all have a great time and the brewmasters don't reveal too many secrets!

I  know Rob is excited about his trip to Neustadt, I just hope he can understand Andrew's accent Smile and likes my Lancashire hotpot.

Visit Neustadt this fall for a taste of Big Dog Porter 6 Comments »

Hey Guy's and Gals

The leaves are a changing and I think this is the best time of the year! Grey and Bruce counties really shine with fall colours. The weather has been great. So come and day trip around Neustadt, we have some great artisans ( for your special Xmas one of a kind gift) Also Andrew is begining to think about his winter beer …Big Dog Porter. Hopefully it will be ready by the end of October. This year we are proud to be working with Pele Island Winery and will be using thier wine in our Big Dog Porter. So all you fans of this winter beer let us know what you think about this change in the winery we have chosen to put in the Porter.

Toronto Festival of Beer is here No Comments »

The 12th Toronto Festival of Beer, presented by our friends at The Beer Store, starts this week, so get your tickets while you still can.  In the meantime, here's a story from Aonghus Kealy at Metro News about the festival that represents the Ontario Craft Brewers very nicely.
still can.

Aonghus's story features his 12 things not to be missed at the fest…we draw your attention to #12:

12. Ontario Craft Beers … yum!: Eat and drink locally. And there are a number of reasons to try some OCB beers:
  • Beer ice cream, by Great Lakes Brewing (Booth 55), served out of a bicycle fridge.
  • Neustadt Springs’ re-introducing Scottish Pale Ale in Booth 47. “It’s only 4.5 per cent and it’s ideal because it has afor the summer,” said Neustadt’s Val Simpson. nice bite to it
  • Brick’s Waterloo Wheat finally ventures into Toronto. Booth 56.

If this doesn't make you thirsty, see a doctor.

Hey Guy's…………….and Gal's

Has anyone seen the OCB poster from last year, on the ultimate reward for  putting a barbi together ……………well

I feel I need a masters degree and a medal. Yes , thats what the folks at Neustadt was doing over the long weekend (in between serving our loyal customers and tourists). Trying to put our new gas barbi together. It took three guy's and me, three day's to fathom out if we had enough bits and pieces. ……….But, we did it!

I am now the Queen of the Q.
