Cameron’s Jolly Dodgers at The Budd Cup 2 Comments »

Jolly Dodgers

The Budd Cup is an annual charity Dodgeball Tournament held in Toronto.

The event entails somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 teams or 150 people battling it out on the Dodgeball court while raising money for charity.

This year the Budd Cup was raising money for The Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund - a bold, non-profit initiative designed to integrate, educate, celebrate and promote all facets of music therapy in this country.

Not only was Cameron’s the official beer sponsor for the event, but we also fielded a 14 person squad - The Cameron’s ‘Jolly Dodgers‘. Although we lost our first game to the defending champions (Mr. Dodgers Neighborhood), we were able to draw Cops and Dodgers in the second game and managed to squeak out a win over the Dodgebots in our third game.

All in all, it was a great event for a great cause.

For the rest of the pictures and more Cameron’s event info, visit the Cameron’s Brewing Facebook Page.

More on The Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund - Since 1994, with the help of the Canadian music industry, the Trust Fund has been able to distribute over $2 million to almost 290 projects from coast to coast. These projects range from hospices for terminally ill persons with cancer or HIV/AIDS, centres for the aged, schools for children who are autistic, physically or mentally challenged and programs for street kids.

Cameron’s ‘Let’s Drink the Cask’ Night - 2nd Edition No Comments »

cask-day-2-re.jpg

Cameron’s Brewing Company hosts a monthly Cask Night. It is a chance for us to experiment with some of our brews, hang out and chat with friends, loyal supporters and anyone who wants to drop by.

Our latest Cask Night on December 13th was a huge success despite the threatening weather. Thanks again to all who made it out to the brewery. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

This month’s Cask was made using our Cameron’s Dark 266, which we seriously dry hopped and added some Oak sticks for additional flavour.

This was without question our most popular cask yet - all who attended had great things to say about it. Here are just a few testimonials…

The award for furthest traveled goes to our man from Washington DC, who was in town for business, but heard about our Cask Nights and came to check it out. Here is what he thought about it…

Thanks again to everyone and we will see you next month.

Cameron’s ‘Let’s Drink the Cask’ Night - 2nd Edition 2 Comments »

Hello friends,

This is the second installment of the Cameron’s Let’s Drink the Cask Night and this time Adam got to choose what went into the cask. Although we keep the casks a secret, let’s just say Adam’s going a little Christmas crazy this year. This month’s Cask Night is this Thursday, December 13th.

Fell free to drop by anytime between 4pm and 7pm.

Let’s Drink the Cask is a casual and intimate event – mainly a chance for us to share a glass of our cask creation with our friends, supporters and our local community.

We will have some local food to enjoy while socializing and chatting about beer.

For those who have not been to the brewery before, this is a great chance to meet the folks behind the scenes and to tour our facility.

Keg Party in Ireland - hosted by the beer bandit. 2 Comments »

Stumbled upon this today and thought it was a good story for a Friday.

DUBLIN — Irish police were hunting for a beer bandit who stole 450 full kegs from the Guinness brewery — the largest heist ever at Ireland’s largest brewer.

National police said a lone man drove into the brewery — a Dublin landmark and top tourist attraction — on Wednesday and hitched his truck to a fully loaded trailer awaiting delivery to city pubs.

Check out the rest of the article here.

If they really want to catch this beer bandit, it might be time to call in Rex Banner.

Beef Jerky, BBQ and The Raptors 1 Comment »

It’s been a few days since we’ve seen a post here so I thought I would ramble for a bit about a few random topics.

The Raptor’s were hosting the Grizzlies last night at the ACC and the fine people at AddInk were kind enough to invite all the Cameron’s folks down to enjoy the game with them. Ad ink is the company behind the Cameron’s Brewing Boxes you see in the LCBO and have done great work for us, not to mention they have box seats at the ACC. Being as wonderful as they are they even talked the Arena into stocking Cameron’s for the night, I’ve got to say it was pretty cool to Drink a fine craft beer while watching a live Raptors game.

The entire Cameron’s staff (except Jim) and Jeff from Add Ink.

On an entirely different note I thought I would give a couple of plugs for some friends of ours in Ontario. First is Jason at bbqblog.ca who hosts a great website dedicated to the art of the grill. If it can be BBQ’d this is the guy that can BBQ it better. Check out his recipe section, it will change your life.

On the topic of food, Cameron’s has stumbled upon what we think is the best beef jerky on the planet. Don’t just take our word for it, head on over to Fired Up Foods and order a few packs. Might as well tag on an order of the tasty chip nuts on while you’re there.

One final note, Cameron’s now has a facebook business profile that keeps our fans up to date and gives you the chance to win some Cameron’s Swag simply for being a “fan”. Check out other Ontario craft beer facebook groups: Beau’s, OCB, Cameron’s and Proud supporters of Ontario craft beer.

Go Safley

Canadian Brewing Awards - Take 1 5 Comments »

Sweet, I get to make the first post about the 2007 Canadian Brewing Awards.

Another year of great times with some of the best people around.  Tonight was like the Oscars for us folks in the Canadian brewing scene and although the weather sucked, fun times were had by all.  Since it's a little after one in the morning I'm going to keep this short and let everyone else follow it up with how they did and give their $0.02.  We had a good showing tonight bringing home an award in the North American Lager and Cream Ale categories, congratulations to our brewers Jason Britton and Adam Ramanauskas for brewing great beers.  Congrats to all the brewers that won tonight especially the well represented OCB group.

I only managed to get a few pictures due to a technical issue (I forgot to recharge the battery) but check them out below.

Cheers

Cameron’s ‘Let’s Drink the Cask’ Day 1 Comment »

Hey folks,

So we recently made two special cask conditioned ales - one for Volo's Cask Days and one for a 'to be determined' special occasion.

And so, Cameron's 'Let's Drink the Cask' Day was born.

Here are the details…

Feel free to drop by the brewery anytime between 4:30pm and 7pm on Thursday November 8th to try this unique brew.

Let’s Drink the Cask Day will be a casual and intimate event – mainly a chance for us to share a glass of this ale with our friends, supporters and local community.  Keep in mind that this is an experimental cask ale, so it should be interesting experience either way.

Our very own Jason Britton will lead the ceremonious tapping of the cask at approximately 5pm

We will have some local food to enjoy while socializing and chatting about beer.

For those who have not been to the brewery before, this is a great chance to meet the folks behind the scenes and to tour our facility.
