Hi There
Yes, slowly I’m being dragged into the 20th century (still kicking and screaming)
Well just as bit of background, I’m the Black Oak Guy who does almost everything but make the beer. I’ve got some great people to work with. But i do have to deal with a few people in the OCB. Things are pretty busy at the brewery so i don’t have too much time for podcasting but i look forward to learning more. I’m a dial up kind of guy so there’s a lot to get caught up on. Unlike other brewers I don’t have the time to sit around and blog in my underwear.
Our Double Chocolate Cherry Stout is selling well at the Brewery store, and we’ve got a few interesting changes an improvements that we’re planning. So with that teaser i’ll sign off and start the long uphill learning process (be patient)
Thanx & Cheers

Learning about blogging March 5th, 2008 3 Comments »
The OCB is doing a how-to-blog session right now! I’m teleconferencing, so they don’t know I’m actually surfing the Internet in my undies.
Ha-ha!
Hopefully, you the reader will get much more blogs from lots more brewers over the next couple weeks.
Hey Reader, how about posting a comment asking a specific brewery to write something and see if they meet the challenge.
I’ll start - Red rover, red rover, I call Black Oak over!
Cheers,
Steve

Beau’s on the LCBO shelf February 28th, 2008 10 Comments »
Well, we finally did it! That’s right, we got our LCBO #. We’ve lined up stores. We’ll be delivering on Tuesday. The LCBO! Now we just need to figure out how to invoice them, how delivering works and stuff like that. You know, the everything else.
My sister, Jen, spent a half day calling prospective stores and got 10 lined up, which was really cool. Here’s the list so far:
RIDEAU & KING EDWARD
275 RIDEAU STREET, CORNER OF KING EDWARD AND RIDEAU ST, OTTAWA-CENTRAL, K1N5Y3
RICHMOND & KIRKWOOD
222 RICHMOND ROAD, OTTAWA-WEST, K1Z6W6
CARLING & WOODROFF
2211 CARLING AVENUE, OTTAWA-WEST, K2B7E9
WOODROFFE & BASELINE (COLLEGE SQUARE)
1363 WOODROFFE AVENUE - UNIT A, COLLEGE SQUARE, OTTAWA-NEPEAN, K2G1V7
HUNT CLUB & MERIVALE (NEPEAN CROSSROADS)
543 WEST HUNT CLUB RD., OTTAWA-NEPEAN, K2G5W5
INNES & TENTH LINE
4220 INNES RD, UNIT #1 BUILDING F, OTTAWA-ORLEANS, K4A5E6
HWY 34 & HWY 17
56 MAIN STREET EAST, HAWKESBURY, K6A1A3
BARRACK & KING
34 BARRACK STREET, KINGSTON, K7K7A9
PRINCESS & CONCESSION
905 PRINCESS STREET, KINGSTON, K7L1G7
QUEEN MARY & BATH
1280 BATH ROAD, BAYOU PLAZA, KINGSTON, K7M4X3
Pretty exciting stuff. I started looking into the listing process in May 2007 and its been a long journey getting here. The staff at the LCBO have been really quite helpful though; I can’t imagine how difficult it would have been without their extra help.

Quick story from the brewery… February 5th, 2008 No Comments »

Pat Ryan of Modesto California visited Toronto in the summer of 2007. He tried our Auburn Ale at a pub and upon returning home, Pat told his wife that this Ontario beer he tried was better than ‘Mother’s Milk’. Knowing that Pat couldn’t get our beer in California, Pat’s wife surprised him with a rather unique birthday present - she sent him back to Toronto with his brother for a few days to check out some sites and to visit Cameron’s Brewing Company.
We hosted Pat at the brewery, put him to work and let him package a few 9-packs of Auburn to take with him.
We decided to give Pat the VIP tour of Toronto by taking him to a few of our favorite accounts in the city…
Thanks to Pat for a great visit to the brewery and thanks to his wife Debbie for making it happen.
Snow January 30th, 2008 3 Comments »
So you think you have had it rough in TO today. Well let me show you why we love living in the snow belt. We like to have snow days, when we can stay in bed when all the roads are closed in our county and every county around us………I don’t think!. Luckily we live in the brewery so we don’t have an excuse to say we cann’t get in to work. Your favourite tipple is still being produced ready for when we can escape Grey County. Stay warm work up a thirst!

Cameron’s ‘Let’s Drink the Cask’ Night - 2nd Edition December 11th, 2007 2 Comments »

Hello friends,
This is the second installment of the Cameron’s Let’s Drink the Cask Night and this time Adam got to choose what went into the cask. Although we keep the casks a secret, let’s just say Adam’s going a little Christmas crazy this year. It will be a holiday ‘warmer’ and with this month’s unique additions, we are all VERY anxious to try this one.
This month’s Cask Night is this Thursday, December 13th.
Fell free to drop by anytime between 4pm and 7pm.
Let’s Drink the Cask is a casual and intimate event – mainly a chance for us to share a glass of our cask creation with our friends, supporters and our local community.
We will have some local food to enjoy while socializing and chatting about beer.
For those who have not been to the brewery before, this is a great chance to meet the folks behind the scenes and to tour our facility.
Cameron’s Brewing is located at: 1165 Invicta Drive, Oakville Ontario.
If traveling via the QEW, take the Trafalgar exit and head North
Turn Right at the first intersection onto Iroquois Shore Road
Take your second Right onto North Service Road
Turn Left on Invicta Drive and follow to the end – you will see a sign for our Beer Store.
Any questions or to confirm your attendance (if you haven’t already) please email info@cameronsbrewing.com or call 905.849.8282
Hope to see you there.
Cheers.
Lick Beau December 6th, 2007 2 Comments »
Ever notice that if you say LCBO pheonetically, it sounds like “Lick Beau”? Neither did I. On a somewhat related topic, I wrote a new post on my own blog about the process of getting into the Lick Beau. Here is the link: http://beausbeer.blogspot.com/
