Press Release: Cameron’s Brewing wins three awards at Canadian Brewing Awards September 29th, 2008
OAKVILLE, September 26 /CNW/ - Sitting at the brewery with their three latest Canadian Brewing Awards, head brewer Jason Britton is glowing after a late night celebrating Cameron’s most recent success.
“It is quite a rush for all of us at Cameron’s. We submitted our four beers to be judged and we walked away with three awards. It was quite a night.”
The Canadian Brewing Awards have emerged as the premiere competition for judging the quality of Canadian brewed beer. The contest is the only truly national competition that invites breweries of all sizes from across the country to compete in blind tasting to see who brews the best beer in 21 style categories. A Canadian Brewing Awards medal is a widely recognized symbol of brewing excellence in Canada.
“Nationally, this is the biggest competition for us brewers, so to have numerous Cameron’s products recognized is an honour” said Cameron’s brewer Adam Ramanauskas
Cameron’s first award of the night was in the North American Style Dark Lager category where they won gold for the Cameron’s Dark 266. Cameron’s then won back to back silver medals for Cameron’s Auburn Ale (North American Style Amber/Red Ale category) and Cameron’s Cream Ale (Cream Ale category). Cameron’s three medals on four entries ranked the brewery as one of the top breweries in the competition.
At the same time as the Brewing Awards, Cameron’s was hosting their monthly Cask Night at the brewery. Brewers Jason Britton and Adam Ramanauskas were sending real time text updates back to the brewery that were received by cheers from the crowd in attendance.
“I have been raving about the Dark 266 for years, so to hear that it won an award as Canada’s Best Dark Lager makes me feel like a beer pioneer amongst my friends” joked one of the attendants at Cameron’s Cask Night.
