Cameron’s Cask Night: Thursday June 26th 6:00 - 8:00pm 1 Comment »

Following last month’s infamous Mesquite Smoked Ale with BBQ Master Jason Rees (perhaps the best Cask Night yet) this month’s Cameron’s ‘Let’s Drink the Cask Night’ will be on Thursday June 26th, from 6:00 - 8:00pm

Cameron’s Cask Nights are a casual and intimate monthly event at the brewery. The guestlist only event is free of charge and mainly a chance for us to share a glass of our latest creation with our friends, supporters and our local community.

For those who have not been to the brewery before, this is a great chance to meet the folks behind the scenes and to tour our facility.   As well, it’s a great time to pick up some brewery fresh Cameron’s beer.

We will be tapping the Cask at approximately 6:15pm.

Whole Foods Markets have graciously donated some delicious food for the event.  The food will be available at 6pm.

As always, the event is capped at 60 people to keep it intimate and to ensure everyone gets a taste of the cask.  RSVP’s always come flooding in, so confirm your attendance as quickly as possible.

Due to the good weather and overall cheer at the brewery, we encourage everyone to invite a guest (or a few) to join them this month.  Just indicate how many people will be coming with you on your RSVP.

For any questions or to RSVP (if you haven’t already), email mike@cameronsbrewing.com

Our on-site retail store will be open throughout Cask Night for those that want to pick up beer for the weekend.

For more information or to get directions, visit this Cameron’s link.

We also now have a blog so check it out.

Hope to see you all on Thursday.

Cheers.

Hello Operator on Tour with Cameron’s 1 Comment »

Hello Operator is a breakthrough band.

They were called a “newsmaker” in Macleans magazine, and listed as “one of 12 bands to watch out for” by Canoe.ca after their exciting Canadian Music Week performance.

Their video for Chasing Satellites has been in regular rotation on Much Music and Much Loud since November 2007 and have been featured on MTV Live.

Cameron’s knows the value of beer on tour, so when when Hello Operator expressed interest in Cameron’s, we helped them out with a little supply for the tour. When they returned, they sent us some pics and clips of their travels with Cameron’s in hand. Press play on the bottom left play button to check out this sweet video.

Check out Hello Operator for a tour stop near you.

Victory cafe
The Victory Café is hosting a Cask Ale festival on Sunday July 13th, 2008.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Cask Ale (a.k.a. Real Ale) it is beer in its natural state. No filtering or force-carbonation. Ever wonder what your favourite Ontario Craft Beers taste like in the raw? Come on down and find out! The breweries that will be participating are:

Black Oak
County Durham
F&M
Grand River
Granite Brewery

The brewers will be in attendance. I’ll also be at the event to talk to people about how fabulous Cask Ale is, and to field any beer-related questions.

On a side note, this festival co-incides with Pedestrian Sundays, so the whole street will be closed to traffic, and there should be music, street scrabble and all sorts of fun…

See you there!

 Show Notes:

Episode 15

Interview – Speaker of the House, Steve Peters

01:05 – A new initiative has been implemented at the House, to help support and draw attention to the wonderful craft beer being brewed throughout the province.  Moving forward, Ontario Craft Beer will be the highlighted beer within the House, it will be the only beer served in the dinning room and will be the first beer offered at all events.

In this episode the Speaker takes a couple minutes to discuss this initiative, how it came about, the beers that were chosen and what it means for the Ontario Craft Brewers.

May Cask Night Recap | Mesquite Smoked Ale | BBQ Master No Comments »

May’s Cask Night was perhaps the biggest and best Cameron’s Cask Night yet.  The weather was fantastic, we had an incredible turn out of local supporters and curious new beer lovers and the food and cask ale received shining reviews.

BBQ Master

We invited BBQ Master Jason Rees out to the brewery to prepare a selection of his finest pairings with our Cask of the Month.

The beer was a Mesquite Smoked Ale that carried a nice balance of hops and a sweet smoke flavour.  The beer was paired with the following menu - created by Jason Rees:

  • Bacon wrapped asparagus, served in a shot glass with tarragon beere blanc sauce
  • Beef Skewers Spiced with Balsamic Fig & Dates
  • Chocolate & Coffee Rubbed Pork Medallions
  • Smokey Portobello Mushrooms Cheese Burgers

Cameron’s June Cask Night has a special beer in store - a recipe we’ve been working on for a few months.  Don’t miss the Cask Night in June.
For more information on Cameron’s Cask Night or to get on the guestlist, visit our website or email promotions@cameronsbrewing.com

Cheers.
