Orange Peel Ale March 5th, 2008
Spring is almost here…and so is the return of Orange Peel Ale!
Due to overwhelming demand last year, Orange Peel Ale will soon be available for spring AND summer this year. Bottles will be available from our retail store later this month, and at the LCBO in late May until the end of the summer.
We brew Orange Peel Ale with fresh oranges and peels right in the boil, resulting in a slightly fruity and citrusy taste. We can’t wait to crack open a bottle and celebrate the return of the warm weather, and hope you can stop by the brewery for a taste too.
Limited quantities of our Winter Ale remain - and judging by the weather today it’s still very much in season.
Cheers,
John

You include actual oranges in the boil not just the peels? Wouldn’t that affect head retention or even cause a very bitter taste? Just curious.

I have 2 questions. Will the Orange Peel make it’s way to Ottawa? If it’s a yes which Ottawa LCBO’s will be stocking it.

Delicious….I did thoroughly enjoy this last year. How abotu a special chocolate infused version so it tastes like those “Terry’s Chocolate Orange” things? Mmmm.

To answer some questions…
Yes, we put oranges and orange peels in the boil - it gives some extra bitterness but doesn’t affect head retention.
It will definitely be available at Ottawa LCBO’s, although we won’t know the exact stores until a few weeks from now. But my guess is that we should have close to a dozen stores in the area stocking it.
Chocolate infused Orange Peel Ale eh? Perhaps as a special cask edition…we’ll see what we can do!

Hi John
That’s great to hear that your Orange Peel Ale will come to Ottawa. I’ve been wanting to try it since I first heard about it on the third issue of the OCB podcast.
Cheers
Darren
